So the journey to a job is truly an interesting one.
My journey started back in 2009 when I was let go at the factory due to a lack
of work. Ever since then I have been working hard to graduate college so that I
can teach students. I decided to be a teacher so that I can inspire and
encourage students to achieve their goals in life. The journey has proved to be
a trying one at times and it has taken a lot of work on my part. However, this
May I finally graduate from college with a bachelor’s degree. Just last week I
went to fill out an application for a teaching job at one of the public schools
close to home. I found out that I needed certain paperwork from the school that
shows I have passed the tests necessary to teach. I also had to have someone
write me a letter to give to the school showing them that I would be certified
to teach in their school. See I decided to graduate with a general studies
degree and then go to graduate school for teachers. So even though I am
graduating this May, I still have two years of school to look forward too. I am
definitely ready for a job. I went to a career fair that my college hosted and
handed out resumes and made sure that I smiled the whole time because that is
what everyone tells you to do at career fairs. I had one job lead that came
from the career fair and that is exciting. I have to go to the school district
and meet with them next week and I was told to bring all of my paperwork with
me. They did not say if this was an interview but I am going to treat it like
one. Could this be the right job, only time will tell!
It is awesome that you are motivated and are sticking with school! I graduate in May too, and I can't wait. The hard work will pay off!
